My name is Blánaid, and I am an N.Ireland-based creative specialising in animation and illustration. I am passionate about visual storytelling and enjoy working across a range of media to bring ideas to life, whether through character-driven narratives or engaging motion design.
My core strengths lie in character design, illustration, and animation, with a particular focus on motion graphics. I hold a 2:1 Bachelor of Design degree, along with a Master’s in Animation awarded with distinction. Professionally, I have worked as a freelance illustrator and character designer, collaborating with clients to develop compelling visual concepts. I also spent three years with Makematic, where I contributed to the creation of educational video content—an experience that strengthened both my creative and technical skillsets.
I am highly proficient in After Effects and Photoshop, using these tools to produce visually engaging animations that balance clarity with creativity, particularly for younger audiences. I am adaptable in my design approach, capable of working across a variety of styles while maintaining consistency with project requirements.
